We all want a business that runs on auto pilot. It should be simple, right? Unfortunately, we must work hard and utilize business growth strategies to build an unstoppable business, a business with momentum.
So what can we do to create that kind of business right now? There are 4 steps I outline below.
I’m not going to tell you they are easy steps, but utilizing all four will, in essence, get you there faster.
#1 - The Need for Speed
You may believe slow and steady wins the race, and in almost everything else that’s true. But if you want to build a business with momentum, you need speed.
Crawling along like a tortoise does not create momentum. Sure, it will get you there eventually. But let me ask you: Do you want eventually or do you want now?
The speed of the leader determines the speed of the team. Your team will mimic the leader.
If you are growing and changing and creating systems for your team to follow, they are going to do the same.
If you’re crawling around, doing small things every few days, that’s what your team is going to do.
What is the easiest way to get someone to stick around on your team? Teach them business growth strategies and help them get a taste of success. That first taste will get them hooked and they will build momentum off that.
The first taste of success differs for each business model. In this article we are talking about a network marketing business.
Tastes of success could be:
- Helping them get their first few cold leads
- Helping them call their warm market until someone says yes
- Helping them start an email list
- Giving them simple marketing strategies that yield fast results
- Giving them a team member so they can learn how to develop a team from there
There are many business growth strategies we can do with our team that will build momentum in their businesses.
#2 - Do You Know It’s Right?
This one is possibly the most important of the four business growth strategies I will share.
You need to have is conviction. You have to know 1000% your products are the best products, your opportunity is the best opportunity. That’s it. There’s nothing else like it out there on the planet.
Once you believe that with all your heart, it will shine through to everyone you speak to, everyone who reads your content, everyone who sees your videos.
And if you believe it, your team will believe it.
How do you grow that belief? First, you need to be a product of the product. Only by utilizing the very product you're selling can you really develop the confidence that your product really is the best.
Second, you need a vision, a goal. You need to see that vision every day whether you have a dream board or you utilize visualization. I personally recommend using visualization.
When you take ten minutes every day and visualize yourself having already achieved your goal, your dream, it does something inside. It creates belief. It creates desire. It creates confidence.
When you can…
… see it
… taste it
… feel it
… smell it...
… your brain will start to believe it has already happened.
Then something amazing thing happens. Your brain will already “know” what to do. It will unlock something inside that has been kept hidden.
You also want to lock arms with people who share your vision and who can keep you in that state of belief.
I get it. When we don’t see immediate success or our business hits a plateau, we start to let doubt creep in. Before you know it, you’re in a downward spiral.
You need a vision, a belief, and a group of people that will keep you focused and on the right path.
#3 - If You Fail To Plan, You Plan To Fail
I’m not the most organized person in the world. Far from it. You should see this desk.
But I know what I need to do every single day.
You need to create a daily method of operation. You need to know what to do every day, without fail.
… overwhelm sets in…
… activities build up…
… and then you become paralyzed.
I know that feeling well. Sometimes I would just sit and be overwhelmed with all the tasks that needed to get done. Unfortunately, that's when I just hang out on Facebook "thinking" I was building my business. Or I would go into creative mode and write a blog post or create something visual. Or -- and this is my favorite waste of time -- I would redo my entire blog.
Creating a daily method of operation of the income producing activities you need to do on a daily basis will stop that from happening.
I know people who plan their schedule to the minute. I can’t possibly do that, but I do have checklists.
It’s too easy to “forget” or let things slide without one.
Believe it or not, I’ve actually gone 3 months without posting a blog post. I kept forgetting to do it or I would get sidetracked. Time flies when you’re having fun….and when you’re busy. Utilizing a checklist would have prevented this type of inaction.
The biggest positive to having a DMO is it creates consistency. Consistency is the key to momentum. Momentum exists only with consistency and speed.
Too many people start and stop, start and stop. They will take “massive” action for 2 weeks straight and then stop for 4 days. They may pick it back up for a few days and then stop. This is killing their momentum. Every time they stop and then start again it’s like starting on day one.
With all the value you are putting out into the world, you are building an audience. That audience needs to see you consistently. The more you’re in their face, the better. Out of sight, out of mind. You never want to be out of mind!
#4 - “Mom, He’s Copying Me!” Good!
The last business growth strategy to building an unstoppable business is the need for a duplicatable system.
In order to have momentum within your team, they need to be able to do what you’re doing.
Creating a duplicatable system means you can bring someone onto the team and they can pick up and run using your system.
The thing you need to remember is this system should be duplicatable even for the newbie. Learning and teaching all these really cool things doesn’t mean your team will know how to do them.
They should be very simple steps your team needs to take on a daily basis to create consistency – and ultimately momentum – in their businesses.
We create a DMO for our team members with very simple things they should be doing on a daily basis such as reading a personal development book for 30 minutes, reaching out to a certain number of people, inviting people to watch the company video, inviting people to webinars, doing 3-way calls (OMG, this helps put an end to the 3-way calls, unless of course they have someone who really needs that personal touch to help them make a decision), etcetera.
Next, we created a team training page of simple marketing training on social media, blogging, and also training on prospecting and recruiting.
We are building momentum in our businesses.
Having this duplicatable system in place allows our team and the new members they bring in to utilize these exact steps WITHOUT Mark and I having to do everything for them.
If you're like most up and coming leaders in your industry, you’ve trained each new team member (or a couple new team members at a time) on a 1-on-1 basis. Wouldn’t it have been much simpler to have a training page to direct them to instead?
And it’s a team page which means they share it with their team and so on and so on…..which makes it duplicatable!

Mark and I hope the business growth strategies we've shared with you will help you start building momentum in not only your business but your team's businesses as well.
By utilizing speed and building momentum in your business, developing unwavering conviction about your products and your business opportunity, creating a daily method of operation that you will follow every single day, and creating duplicatable systems that your team members can follow, you will create the unstoppable, nearly automatic business we all dream about.
