Do you want some success quotes motivation from some amazing men?
Each one is a lesson on how to attain that success you are striving for. If you are too busy to look for it, if you don’t listen to those who tell you that you cannot make a difference, if you are willing to do whatever it takes, if you are willing to fail, and if you keep up the momentum, you will find the success you are looking for.
Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.
Henry David Thoreau
If you are busy running your business, talking with people, building rapport, creating value, you are creating success by taking action. You cannot just sit back and wait for success to happen. You must be out there consistently doing whatever it is you need to do to grow your business.
Wouldn’t it be great if it sneaked up on you?
There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed.
Typically, these two types of people are your friends and family. Watching someone else go after their dreams by taking action, doing things that are uncomfortable is very scary for those who love you. Not only does it hold up a mirror to their own lives, but they also don’t want you to get hurt if you fail.
It’s not necessarily bad of them to care for you so much, but it is bad if you listen to them and stop trying to achieve your dreams.
Now there are also those out there who are afraid you will succeed. Why? They fear you will change; you will be a different person. And you will be. You cannot stay the same person and become successful at the same time. If you could, you would be successful right now.
But what happens if you do change? What happens if you do accomplish your goals?
Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Don’t wish it were easier; wish you were better.
Building a business is not easy. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. It will get easier once you’ve learned and tested and tweaked to start getting the results you want and then put systems into place to maintain it.
Successful people live outside their comfort zones. Successful people take the action necessary to move their business forward, whether that means going out and prospecting and recruiting every day, creating videos every day, doing webinars, blog posts, etc.
Unsuccessful people are unwilling to do a lot of these things because of fear, because of their self-image, because it means being uncomfortable.
Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It’s quite simple, really: Double your rate of failure. You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at all. You can be discouraged by failure or you can learn from it, so go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because remember that’s where you will find success.
Thomas J. Watson
This is my favorite quote. Rarely will someone hit it out of the ballpark the first time they get up to bat. Most of us will need to fail, a lot. Your failures no matter what size are like stepping stones.
How would you know if something will work unless you try?
Remember, all the great inventors failed, one as high as 10,000 times. Thomas Edison said he found 10,000 ways it wouldn’t work.
That’s the attitude we must have when building a business. If this doesn’t work, try it another way. If that doesn’t work, try it another way.
Failing has always been and will always be part of life. I am reminded of this when I watch babies try to walk. They fail all the time. They may get in a step or two and then down they go. But has any baby decided walking is just not in the cards because he’s a failure at it? No.
We were not born to quit. We were born with persistence. If we had a goal, we were going to figure it out one way or another. Somewhere along the way, probably in school, you were told failure was bad. If you failed, you were going to be a nobody for the rest of your life.
We need to let that old belief go. We know better than that now. We know failure happens to everyone. Nobody became a success in life without failing a few times (or even a few times after that). Learn to embrace failure like an old friend, one that can take you to the top if you let it.
People who succeed have momentum. The more they succeed, the more they want to succeed, and the more they find a way to succeed. Similarly, when someone is failing, the tendency is to get on a downward spiral that can even become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Momentum is a magical thing. The rate of speed increases and the effort you need to put forth decreases.
Have you ever tried to ride a bike up a hill? It’s pretty hard at first. It takes a lot of effort to get going. As you find the sweet spot, it gets easier and easier until you find yourself at the top.
It can be looked at in the reverse as well. What happens if you’re pedaling along up the hill and all of a sudden you decide to take it easy. You think, “I’m almost there. I don’t need to continue pushing so hard.”
What happens? Your momentum slows down until you are fighting with all your might just to continue going forward. If you stop pedaling altogether, you will be spiraling downward until you hit the bottom.
The same rules apply to business. As you are succeeding your desire grows exponentially. But as you’re failing, if that’s what you are concentrating on, the failure grows exponentially.
Therefore, I encourage you to celebrate the little successes. They will inspire you to keep going, to keep striving. If you have a little failure, it’s only a pebble on your path up the hill. If you focus too much on that failure, it will grow to the size of a boulder. At that point you are left with two choices: go around it or stop.
